Crew Applications are Now Open!
Also known as a Technical Crew, is a collective group of individuals, who supervise and operate ("run") the various technical aspects of the production during a performance. The Crew includes all persons other than performers involved with the production, such as those who build and take down the sets and place the lighting, etc. In Lindbergh All District Musical's Crew, there are various positions that Crew Members can pick from to do each year.
Requirements to be a part of Lindbergh All District Musical's Crew:
Be a student in grades 4th-8th that lives or is enrolled in the Lindbergh School District
Be committed to help with the production
Apply to be a Crew Member before the application window closes
No experience is needed to be a Crew Member, the Technical Director will work with each individual to prepare them for the shows. Also, there is no fee to be apart of Lindbergh All District Musical's Crew.

Please note: Due to physical space limitations and safety, it's possible that not all students that apply for crew will be accepted and assigned crew roles. We will do our best to accommodate all that apply, but there are no guarantees.
Rehearsals = Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (5pm-8pm) at Sperreng
Not all crew members will be required at all rehearsals
Tech Week = 1/5/26 - 1/8/26 at LHS Auditorium
Tech Week is when the technical theater components (lighting, sound, sets, props, etc.) get implemented into the show.
Performances = 1/12/26 - 1/18/26 at LHS Auditorium
This crew is responsible for all costumes and basic makeup for the production. They work with the Director to bring each character’s look to life. Members help plan and organize costumes, label pieces, and make sure every actor is performance-ready. They assist with quick changes and may provide basic stage makeup when needed. This role is perfect for students who are detail-oriented, organized, and a creative eye for fashion and design.
Tentative Schedule:
Occasional work sessions during rehearsals, with increased time commitment in the weeks leading up to Tech Week.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
This crew is responsible for the audience experience and show promotion. Before the show opens, they may help design posters, lobby displays, and other promotional materials. During performances, they act as ushers, hand out programs, scan tickets, and assist with seating. They ensure the lobby is welcoming and organized. This position is great for students who enjoy working with people and being the first to welcome the audience to the show.
Tentative Schedule:
Flexible work on marketing materials in the weeks leading up to the show.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
Also known as lighting designers, Lights create and manage all aspects of lighting for a production. They work with the Technical Director and Director’s plans for the show to create lighting cues and set the mood for each scene. Throughout the rehearsal process, the lighting crew refines their plan, considers safety and special effects, and ensures all equipment is functioning. This position requires imagination and focus, as lighting is one of the most powerful tools for storytelling on stage.

Occasional work sessions during rehearsals, with increased time commitment in the weeks leading up to Tech Week.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
This position is responsible for every handheld object used by the cast. They work with the Director and Stage Manager to create a prop list, gather or build the needed items, and organize them backstage. During performances, they set props before scenes, hand them to actors when needed, and make sure everything is returned after use. Members must be responsible and keep track of many small details.

Occasional work sessions during rehearsals, with increased time commitment in the weeks leading up to Tech Week.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
The set design team brings the world of the play to life. They work with the Director and Technical Director to paint, decorate, and finish scenery pieces. This may include painting backdrops, adding textures, and making sure the set matches the overall style of the production. Members should enjoy hands-on creative work and be ready to work carefully with paint, and materials.
Set Design can also participate on the Set Mover/Run Crew team. Indicate that in notes on your application if you'd like to do both.
Tentative Schedule:
Work sessions during rehearsals and weekends for set design days scheduled throughout October-December
Not typically needed during Tech Week and performances unless touch-ups are needed.
This team moves set pieces and scenery during scene changes. They ensure that everything is placed safely and correctly before each scene begins. Run crew members work backstage during every performance, dressed in black so they remain unseen by the audience. They should be dependable, able to follow cues exactly, and ready to work as a team under pressure.
Set Mover/Run Crew can also participate on the Set Design team. Indicate that in notes on your application if you'd like to do both.

Occasional work sessions during rehearsals in December, with increased time commitment in the weeks leading up to Tech Week.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
The sound crew manages all microphones, speakers, and audio cues for the production. They work with the Technical Director to set up and test microphones, change batteries, and operate sound equipment during the show. Sound crew members must pay close attention to timing and levels to make sure the audience can hear every line and song clearly.

Occasional work sessions during rehearsals, with increased time commitment in the weeks leading up to Tech Week.
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
The Stage Manager is the backstage leader during rehearsals and performances. They work closely with the Director to write down blocking, take detailed notes, and track all cues for lights, sound, and scene changes. During performances, they call cues, manage cast and crew, and ensure everything runs on time. This position is perfect for a student who enjoys leadership, organization, and being a reliable point of communication for everyone involved.
Tentative Schedule:
Attend blocking rehearsals following the schedule determined by the Director
Participate in Tech Week and all performances
The video operator manages all projection and recording of the production. This includes running slideshows, projections, or livestreams if used. They work with the Technical Director to make sure every cue is timed correctly and that visual media supports the story being told on stage.
